New Student Experience

YOUR FIRST YEAR New Student Experience

Impact LLC.jpg

Baylor is highly committed to you -- to who you are now and to who you are becoming! In your first year, you'll be surrounded by a set of programs and activities that together are known as the "New Student Experience" or NSE. These experiences are designed to help you develop community and build relationships, establish healthy and effective habits, get to know faculty and staff, and engage with new ideas and opportunities.

From Orientation to your residence hall to the classroom, Baylor has built your New Student Experience around what we call Four Cornerstones:

  • Academic Rigor -- We want you to be an active learner who takes ownership of your academic path, and who is prepared to utilize abundant resources and supports as you engage in Baylor's rigorous academics.
  • Personal Growth -- Your whole self matters. You will find countless people and opportunities around you that will enrich your life in all areas.
  • Faith Formation -- Our Christian community nurtures spiritual growth and development through worship, the witness of those within and outside the Baylor campus, practices of faith, and more.
  • Cultural Humility -- You are joining a community represented by a multitude of stories, passions, cultures, and giftings. One of the greatest opportunities in your Baylor journey will be sharing life alongside and learning from others.
