Bring Your Whole Self to this Place

CAMPUS LIFEBring Your Whole Self to this Place

Your personal growth at Baylor goes far beyond the classroom. We believe that each of us is called to care for mind, body, spirit, and for our neighbors. Whether you are participating in student organizations, engaging in service within the community, experiencing one of Baylor’s many traditions, or making time for rest and reflection, we want you to bring your whole self to this place.

"The main reason that we are in college is to learn things and to study and to really be serious academic human beings. But there's also the huge importance, the huge significance of being involved outside of class. It really helps you to apply what you've learned. I always think anything that’s outside of class is application, and that’s when your learning really comes alive. I think a successful student at Baylor is taking advantage of all of the programming that's available, including tutoring and free assistance, and they're going to their office hours with their professors. They're meeting with their student instructors in the various lectures. And then they're also getting involved on campus and off campus in the community. I think that's what success is across the board for the student at Baylor--is looking at all that Baylor has to offer and choosing what's really close to their heart and pursuing it."

"Time management as a student is very important and we definitely understand that it takes a little bit of practice to get good at time management actually. So initially we encourage students to just get involved in one student organization until they find that balance with academics as well as outside of the classroom experiences. And then we encourage you to take on more responsibilities outside of the classroom. Students have grown exponentially when they get involved in a student organization. I have seen students really transform the skill sets that they are learning, being involved. They actually go on to take these same experiences with them into their adulthood. These are experiences that they're able to articulate and talk about in a job interview and actually use in their career."

“They get to see that the academic life connects also with their residential life, their social life, that the education at Baylor is holistic. We connect what they're learning in the classrooms, with what happens in the residence halls, with what's happens in their events and activities.”

Through involvement in life on campus, you will broaden your horizons, find great friends, grow in your capacity to serve and lead, and make memories for a lifetime!
