Baylor BSM is a student organization that pursues a culture of discipleship and unity connecting the many organizations at Baylor with a common goal: to make His name known. The mission of BSM is to encourage and equip Baylor students to pursue Christ and to live out their faith boldly whether they are across the world or in a classroom.
#BetterTogetherBU is Baylor’s on-campus interfaith group — one of many across the nation. This group is part of Interfaith Youth Core’s national network of people who are passionate about interfaith dialogue, working together to solve global issues, and becoming better leaders and citizens.
The offices for Spiritual Life are in the Bobo Spiritual Life Center, located on the eastern edge of campus at the corner of 5th Street and Speight Avenue. Often referred to as “the Bobo,” this building is a wonderful place to host an event or drop in for a study session. The Bobo is open to the Baylor community during the school day as a place to gather between classes, study, rest and refocus in the chapel, and catch up with friends.
Pastoral Care is a ministry of compassion and guidance offered by someone trained in matters of faith and the soul. Given the many challenges faced in a university setting, students, staff and faculty can benefit by speaking with a minister from time to time. Questions need asking. Directions need discerning. Wounds need healing. Chaplains at the Spiritual Life Center and in the residence halls are available to offer the care and guidance you need.
Our hope is that every student would find a local church in which to become actively involved during their time at Baylor. The churches in our area can be places where your faith can be dynamically transformative, and you experience missional living in new ways. You may not find a church exactly like one in which you grew up or that seems comfortable right away, but you may find that God has something new for you to learn about spiritual growth within the body of Christ.
Baylor hosts Celebration of Community and Faith at the start of the fall semester to help you connect with local churches.
More than 20 religious organizations are chartered groups in the Baylor community. They include denominational groups (Reformed University Fellowship, Catholic Student Association, Episcopal Lutheran Fellowship, Orthodox Christian Fellowship, etc.) and vocational groups (Nurses Christian Fellowship, Christian Business Leaders, etc.). Some groups are small and activity-based, while others are community-facing or service-oriented, like Young Life Baylor or Vertical Ministries.
Resident Chaplains are current Truett Seminary students who live in and are a pastoral presence in Baylor’s on-campus residential communities. They are "pastors-in-residence" who form intentional relationships with students to provide incarnational ministry, focused relationships, pastoral care and pastoral leadership. Each residence hall has a designated Resident Chaplain.
